As I have mentioned to a number of people, I will not be continuing as LC for CPPD. However, before I formally step down I would like to get an initial Board of Directors assembled and not-for-profit status, or the process at least in progress.

Why do I not just find another person to take over as LC?

Because CPPD has been happening for 7 years, at this point, and is at the point where we need to establish something more permanent, and involving a greater variety of people, so it can move beyond the ‘one person and a few willing volunteers burning out every year’ approach to organizing it. As well, not-for-profit status can bring the opportunity for better fundraising and savings on certain expenses (e.g. insurance).

I have included the details of what I would like to see the Board positions be on the page (to the right) titled “The Future of Calgary Pagan Pride Day” as well as a few more details.
